Holter ECG 24h (002_HOL_ECG24)
The ECG Holter is a non-invasive examination performed using a small recorder which, thanks to electrodes applied to the patient's chest, continuously monitors the electrical activity of the heart for 24 hours and allows to evaluate the regularity of the rhythm and the presence of cardiac arrhythmias, changes in heart rate, to rule out or confirm coronary heart disease.
The ECG Holter is an examination indicated for:
the detection of cardiac arrhythmias (from hypokinetic ones, in which the beat frequency is below average, to tachyarrhythmias, in which it is above average which, generally, is between 60 and 100 beats per minute);
the study of discontinuous changes in the heart rhythm;
the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease (especially in cases where they occur silently, that is, not accompanied by an important symptomatology such as classic anginal pain);
the deepening of ailments such as heart rate, chest pain, dizziness;
monitoring the operation of implanted devices such as pacemakers;
monitoring of cardiac parameters that can be altered by the use of antibiotics or neurological drugs.
